Panasonic to show HD power

SECAUCUS, N.J., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ – Panasonic, the market and leader in Plasma TV, today announced it is launching a multi-city tour of its line of high definition flat panel plasma televisions. The tour, which will feature a series of home environment vignettes, will appear in high traffic locations across the United States. The tour kicks off this Saturday, October 28 in the Washington, DC area at the Tyson’s Corner Center Mall and will run through January.

The Panasonic Plasma Tour will be staffed by Panasonic Plasma Concierge experts who will be able to answer consumers’ questions and give advice on choosing the right kind of flat panel display for their specific needs. Featured in the display will be Panasonic’s full line of industry-leading Plasma TV’s including the 37-inch, 42-inch, 50-inch, 58-inch, the recently debuted 1080p 65-inch, and the 103-inch model, the world’s largest Plasma TV.

"This is prime time for buying high definition flat panel displays and consumers will be faced with a wide range of choices, information and opinions about the pluses and minuses of plasma and LCD flat panel TV’s," said Andrew Nelkin, Panasonic’s Display Group Vice President.

"Panasonic is uniquely positioned in the flat panel market," said Nelkin. "We know that consumers are looking for bigger screens and, when it comes to large screens, there is no better option than high definition plasma. Our multi-city tour will allow consumers to see the beauty of Panasonic plasma firsthand while also giving them a chance to meet some of our plasma experts and ask questions."

Tour stops will include Chicago, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Miami, Minneapolis, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco, Seattle, and Washington, DC. Additional tour stops may be added at a later date.

All Panasonic Plasma TVs are covered by the Panasonic Plasma Concierge program which provides advice and answers, via a dedicated, toll-free number, from trained specialists to help users get on with the experience of enjoying HDTV’s benefits. Panasonic is investing more than $15 million in this unique program, including upgrading its customer call center in Chesapeake, Virginia, enhancing its website and taking measures to improve the overall customer experience.
