‘Borat’

This is easily one of the funniest movies to show up in theatres in recent memory. Borat _ the creation of British comic Sacha Baron Cohen _ is a cheerful misogynist and anti-Semite from Kazakhstan who comes to America to film a documentary. But on his first night in New York he falls madly in love with Pamela Lee Anderson. During the ensuing road trip to L.A. to entrap Anderson in the Kazakh "wedding sack," Borat visits a rodeo, befriends a hooker, buys a bear and flees in terror from the home of an elderly Jewish couple who make Mr. Rogers seem satanic.

Borat’s good-natured bigotry is so ridiculously over the top that it’s both chilling and funny to watch him chat with like-minded Americans. "Borat" is 90 minutes of genuine, edgy and rip-roaring comedy. Four stars out of four.
