Trailer Park Boys pledge to be drunker when they take the stage as ECMA hosts
Thursday February 15th 2007HALIFAX (CP) _ Bubbles, the googly-eyed misfit from the Trailer Park Boys, is hoping this weekend will mark his big musical breakthrough.
The myopic member of the crass TV trio, which will host the 2007 East Coast Music Awards this Sunday in Halifax, is banking on a chance to roll out some of his own salty tunes.
Bubbles says he’s got a few songs up his sleeve, including a profanity-laced ditty about shopping carts and others about his true love _ the "kitty cats" that cruise through the fictional Sunnyvale Trailer Park.
This the second year in a row the foul-mouthed characters have been asked to host the tribute to the region’s musicians, which will be broadcast across Canada on CBC TV.
When asked how they might improve on their performances, all three say they’re going to juice themselves up on a stash of moonshine and a crop of home-grown goodies.
Bubbles, played by Mike Smith, says the three will have a great
time if he gets "slightly more intoxicated and maybe 60 to 80 per
cent higher."
