Toronto’s Mega Studio is currently under construction.
Tuesday April 10th 2007Toronto’s new 50 acre film and television production complex (FILMPORT) is currently under construction. The FILMPORT community will be anchored by a state-of-the-art film and television production facility, designed from the ground up to service the most demanding projects.
Phase 1 will comprise 260,000 square feet of production facilities including 7 large sound stages, paint and carpentry shops, wardrobe facilities and fully furnished production offices.
Foremost among the stages will be the 45,500 square ft. Mega Stage, the largest feature-quality sound stage in the world.
Surrounding the studio lot will be a convergence district for companies and institutions engaged in film, television and new media including post production facilities and lighting and grip suppliers. FILMPORT will also have a vibrant public element with restaurants, retail areas and possibly a hotel and theatre.
