CBC cancells ‘The Gill Deacon Show’
Tuesday May 08th 2007TORONTO (CP) _ The CBC is cancelling "The Gill Deacon Show," the public broadcaster confirmed Monday on its website. The last show is set to air at month’s end, but the program will continue in reruns over the summer.
Deacon, a former host on the Discovery Channel, was heavily hyped by the CBC when the lifestyles show debuted last November.
However, a CBC spokesman said the program ultimately failed to attracted enough viewers.
It was up against the popular U.S. chat fest "The View." It’s not clear what will replace "The Gill Deacon Show."
CBC is set to announce its new lineup later this month.
