Elizabeth: The Golden Age at TIFF

TORONTO (CP) _ The sequel to the Oscar-nominated film "Elizabeth" will screen at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.

Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush reprise their roles in "Elizabeth: The Golden Age," joining director Shekhar Kapur in the historical drama that finds Queen Elizabeth I facing bloodlust for her throne and familial betrayal.

Clive Owen joins the cast as Sir Walter Raleigh, a dashing seafarer and newfound temptation for the queen.

The 1998 film, "Elizabeth," was nominated for seven Academy Awards, including a best actress nod for Blanchett.

Also showing at this year’s fest is "No Country For Old Men," the latest from cinematic siblings Ethan and Joel Coen.

The 32nd annual Toronto International Film Festival runs from Sept. 6 to Sept. 15.
