Nominees for 2007 DGC awards

TORONTO (CP ) _ "Away from Her" and "Fido" are among the multiple nominees this year at the 2007 Directors Guild of Canada awards.

The awards, celebrating the best in Canadian film and television, will be handed out on Sept. 29 at a gala ceremony in Toronto.

The Director’s Guild is also awarding a lifetime achievement award to director Paul Almond, an award-winning director who began his career in 1954 and has since produced and directed more than 100 television dramas and several motion pictures.

Mary Stonehouse, a veteran production manager, is the recipient of this year’s Don Haldane Distinguished Service Award.
