All-New Canadian E! documentary series
Wednesday August 15th 2007CALGARY, – Shaye, this season’s all-new original documentary series captures the highs and lows of making it in the music business. Juggling spouses, children and the demands of the band, the women of Shaye are discovering whether they can possibly do it all.
From CanWest MediaWorks and Executive Producers Ira Levy and Peter Williamson of Breakthrough Films & Television this 4-part documentary makes its television debut Sundays at 10pm ET/PT beginning September 9 on E!.
“Shaye is the perfect series to kick-off our roster of Canadian original documentaries on E!,” said Christine Shipton, Vice President of Original Programming for CanWest MediaWorks Inc. “We love this series because it features more than just music from a talented trio of women. It offers a rare glimpse into the Canadian entertainment industry and what it takes to make it in the music business both personally and professionally."
Shaye chronicles the behind-the-scenes journey of Kim Stockwood, Damhnait Doyle and Tara MacLean as they face life’s everyday challenges, such as motherhood and dating on the road, while working to reach their dream of musical stardom. From filming videos to touring with the kids in tow, the pressure builds for the trio every day as they inch closer to gaining fame and fortune with the release of their second album.
"Breakthrough Films & Television is excited to be part of the inaugural launch of E! with the broadcast of Shaye, a 4 part series that showcases a quintessentially Canadian story," said Ira Levy, Executive Producer, Breakthrough Films & Television.
