Paramount, DreamWorks support for HD DVD
Tuesday August 21st 2007TOKYO – The August 20 announcement by each of Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Animation SKG of exclusive worldwide support for the HD DVD format is warmly welcomed by the HD DVD Promotion Group.
The HD DVD Promotion Group believes that the decision of Paramount and DreamWorks Animation reflects their evaluation that the HD DVD format offers consumers the best overall experience, particularly on the strengths of its future potential in terms of cost competitiveness and advanced features, including interactivity. HD DVD is the only HD format that today delivers mandatory support of web-enabled connectivity, and it has consistently led the way in bringing new capabilities to the HD experience.
Building on the momentum generated by the announcement by Paramount and DreamWorks Animation, the HD DVD Promotion Group will continue to promote further expansion of HD DVD products in the market, working in close cooperation with content providers, IT and consumer electronics manufacturers, and with other partners committed to promoting the global penetration of HD DVD.
