Sign-ups open for DOC Toronto’s HD workshop

The Documentary Organization of Canada is holding an extensive HD Workshop in Toronto on the first weekend of February. With a lineup of presenters including Emmy winner and Oscar shortlisted editor Michèle Hozer (Shake Hands With the Devil), ‘HD From START TO FINISH’ will be a crash course in the equipment and technology as well as some of the issues and pitfalls relating to HD production, acquisition and post production.

Other presenters include Branden Bratuhin Technical Co-ordinator at the NFB, Kemp Archibald of the CBC, and CTV’s Post Production Supervisor David Rowe. Also making appearances are filmmakers Tina Hahn, Jeremy Edwardes, Ann Pick and Ed Barraveld.

Day one (Feb. 2) of the workshop focuses on production and will feature the following workshops:

  • <b>An HD Overview
  • Panel Discussion: Shooting with Multiple Formats
  • Hands On session
  • HD Lenses with Carlo Beltrano
  • The RED ONE Camera overview with Gregor Hagey </b>

Day two (Feb. 3) is a post-production day with a focus on the following:
<b>
* HD Post Production with Calvin B. Grant

  • Post Production Sound
  • Michèle Hozer of the Cutting Factory 
  • Broadcaster Panel 
  •  Panasonic P2 workflow with David Craig
  •  Sony EX and Blueray disk workflow with Brian Young
    </b>

Where: The Royal (Theatre D) 608 College St. 10 AM – 1 PM; Revival 783 College St. 1 PM – 5 PM
