Christina Norman exits as president of MTV

Christina Norman is ankling as president of MTV at the end of the month after 17 years with the company.

Van Toffler, prexy of the MTV Networks Music & Logo Group, will not designate a successor; instead, Toffler will take over her duties.

In the memo, Toffler lauded Norman for "reinventing our big franchise events – the Video Music Awards and the Movie Awards – and ramping up new ways for us to partner with advertisers" when MTV made her president in May 2005.

From 2002-05, she took charge of MTV’s VH1 sibling and became the "architect of its rebirth," according to Toffler.

Norman joined MTV in 1991 as a production manager and, over the course of her career leading up to prexy post, she worked in all areas of the network, developing an expertise in promotion and marketing.
