Daniel Radcliffe, the National Film Board and a documentary about a Chinese river were among the winners of the Banff World Television Awards, doled out Tuesday.
Radcliffe, better known as the titular star of the Harry Potter films, took part in an episode of British comedy Extras which was named best comedy. In the episode, Radcliffe plays an oversexed, arrogant version of himself.
Unlike other television awards, such as the Emmys, the Banff awards, which are part of the Banff TV festival, offer prizes for many different parts of the TV industry, from traditional programming to online initiatives.
The National Film Board was rewarded for its online Filmmaker in Residence Program, while Canadian documentary Up the Yangtze, won Best Canadian Program.
Other winners included British lifestyle show How to Look Good Naked, CBC’s The Border: Interactive and A&E reality series Intervention.
