Toronto Doc Forum topper exits
Tuesday June 17th 2008TORONTO — Michaelle McLean, director of the Toronto Documentary Forum, the two-day market and pitching event hosted by Hot Docs, announced Monday she is stepping down after nine years.
McLean, who continues her association with Hot Docs by overseeing the new Canwest-Hot Docs Completion Fund, helped to develop the TDF into a world-renowned international co-financing event. She also will pursue other professional opportunities.
Hot Docs will begin a candidate search in mid-July. The 16th Hot Docs runs April 30-May 10.
The TDF hit a record high this year with 550 delegates, including 190 broadcasters and distribs. Thirty-five doc projects were pitched.
