CTV Creative Agency takes 69 medals at PROMAX and BDA Awards in NY

NEW YORK, June 20 /CNW/ – CTV has been recognized with more awards than any other broadcaster in the world at the 2008 PROMAX and BDA Awards in New York City this week. The CTV Creative Agency was honoured with 69 medals recognizing excellence in promotion and design – more than any other Canadian broadcaster and the biggest medal tally for any broadcaster in the world.

These are the first PROMAX/BDA awards for the CTV Creative Agency since its inception last fall and now confirm it as one of the most acclaimed in-house creative groups in international television.

The CTV Creative Agency Captured 23 Gold Medals, 23 Silver and 22 Bronze, including five “World Gold” awards representing the best in international television design and promotion. CTV, “A” and its affiliates were honoured with 19 awards, while MTV also received 19 nods, including the prestigious BDA North America Judge’s Choice Award for Art Direction & Design. Other CTV specialty services recognized with awards include The Comedy Network (5), TSN (5), Discovery Channel (4), MuchMusic (4), SPACE (3), MuchLOUD (3), Bravo! (2), FashionTelevision Channel (1), SexTV (1), MuchMoreMusic (1), Razer (1) and Star! (1).

“This week’s achievement represents the tremendous breadth of output by the CTV Creative Agency and in an astonishing number of different creative disciplines and mediums as well,” said Rick Lewchuk, Senior Vice President, CTV Creative Agency and Brand Strategy. “We don’t produce to win awards but is certainly rewarding when it happens.
