  • Exodus at Weinstein Co.

    With little fanfare, several of the Weinstein Co.’s top founding film executives are departing the company with no imminent replacements for their positions. Executive vps/co-heads of acquisitions and production Michelle Krumm and Maeva Gatineau quietly left the indie distributor three weeks ago. Production president Michael Cole and senior vp production Carla Gardini will be following suit in the next few weeks. Executive vp marketing Gary Faber is expected to depart by the end of the year.

    “The Englishman’s Boy” and “The Tudors” were the big winners on Wednesday at the third and final Gemini Industry Gala, which saw 33 prizes handed out to TV shows in the drama, variety and comedy categories. Also presented were two previously announced prizes, the Earle Grey lifetime achievement award to actor David Gardner and the Margaret Collier award to the late TV scribe David Cole.

    60Frames, the digital content producer and distribution firm born last year out of United Talent Agency, has quietly rolled out Red Band Industries, a separate production label geared for incubating edgier fare that might not appeal to mainstream advertisers. 60Frames execs are looking to establish Red Band Industries as a separate sub-brand that will become identified as a home for youth-appealing content that’s clearly not for everyone.

    Rene Ohashi, ASC displays his talent with dramatic cinematography in Jerry Bruckheimer’s new TV series Eleventh Hour for Warner Bros (starring Rufus Sewell and Marley Shelton). The series is based on the British science/investigation series. Eleventh Hour airs Thursday October 23 at 10pm EST on CBC

  • ‘Dexter’ picked up for 2 more seasons

    Showtime has renewed its top-rated drama series “Dexter” for two more seasons. The premium cable network has ordered 12 episodes each for Seasons 4 and 5, with the fourth season set to go into production in the spring in Los Angeles. Season 3 premiered Sept. 28 and is averaging 2.5[…]
