    Moon Bloodgood, Jessy Schram, Seychelle Gabriel and Maxim Knight have joined Noah Wyle on TNT’s untitled alien invasion pilot from executive producer Steven Spielberg. The project, written by Robert Rodat from an idea he conceived with Spielberg, is set shortly after aliens have wiped out most of the human population and centers on a ragtag group of soldiers and civilians led by widower Tom Mason (Noah Wyle) who struggle against the occupying alien force.

    Pedro Almodovar’s “Broken Embraces” and Todd Solondz’s “Life During Wartime” will receive high-profile North American bows at the Toronto International Film Festival, organizers said Thursday. As Toronto unveiled eight new Special Presentations titles, the festival said it booked Almodovar’s latest Penelope Cruz starrer, which bowed in Cannes, and Solondz’s part-sequel to “Happiness,” which stars Allison Janney and Ciaran Hinds.
