COLR announces partnership

Topix and School Editing come together to run COLR, Toronto’s newest colour grading facility, formally a division of Topix.

The COLR team includes colourist Joe Wenkoff, EP Gerry Legros and junior colourist Erik Barnett.

Says School’s Chris Van Dyke: “We were impressed when we met Joe. His skill in compositing combined with his photography background have resulted in an experience that pushes the boundaries of a traditional transfer session. It didn’t take long for School to decide that this was the future of colour correction and we wanted to be part of it.”

Topix’s Sylvain Taillon is thrilled with the new partnership: “we’ve long admired the School team and their excellent work. Having the opportunity to collaborate with them on the new venture is, quite simply, great.”

This announcement comes on the heels of COLR’s latest project hitting theatres in Europe. COLR works alongside Topix and Director Paul WS Anderson (of Resident Evil, Death Race, and Three Muskateers’ fame) on Deutsche Telekom’s stereoscopic spot “1000 Things,” starring Academy Award Winner Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds, The Green Hornet).
