Keen signs Black

Thomas Neuspiel, President and Creative Director of Keen Music, Voice & Sound Design has announced that Composer/Sound Designer John Black will now be doing commercial work in Canada exclusively with Keen.

John is a highly creative individual whose approach to sound and music is rooted in sound creation. A composer who is most comfortable working with computers, he creates wonderful fresh sounds.

“John has been composing for some really exciting young animators and he works on very innovative experimental pieces. He’s already done great work for the more adventurous of advertising clients internationally and we are hoping to help bring some of that to the Canadian market,” says Neuspiel. “What excites me the most is all the fertile ground that exists between us. There are so many interesting possibilities in terms of our collaborations. It’s a really perfect match because we all bring very different things to the party.”

John will work with a group of people who have a lengthy resume of composing, recording, production and mixing credits of high profile recordings, feature films advertisements and television shows. “There’s such an interesting variety of talents in that place doing work in so many different parts of the music business. And in the world of advertising production there is little that these guys have not done.” says Black. “Their long history of working with actors in voice-over and radio also adds a dimension to my offerings that was missing. I’m especially intrigued by the advancements they are making in interactive audio. It’s an area that I’m very interested in.”
