Atlantic Film Festival announces award winners

HALIFAX/TORONTO – The Atlantic Film Festival announced their 31st awards Saturday night celebrating the 10-days of screenings and events.

The People’s Choice Audience award, presented by Creative Post, 3D Camera Company, Theatre D went to “Cloudburst”, the latest hit from well-known Canadian producer Thom Fitzgerald.

The other big winner this year, winning 4 awards, went to Michael Melski’s “Charlie Zone”, winning Best Director, Best Atlantic Film, with Best Cinematography for Christopher Ball, and Best Actor for Glenn Gould.

The Best Canadian Feature award was presented to “Cafe de Flore”, directed by Jean-Marc Vallee who graciously donated his $10,000 prize towards the education of young film-makers in Atlantic Canada.
