    Every creative person I know in L.A. says the same thing. “You gotta talk to Howie Cohen.” So I’m thrilled when Howie says he’ll let me interview him for The Brief. Though I shouldn’t be surprised, as Howie is a self-professed “mensch.” And, as I am about to learn, a genuinely nice ad guy. (And you thought that was an oxymoron.)

  • Apple’s new television product unveiled?

    Electronics giant Apple may be coming up with a new television product that is simple to use and functional right out of the box. According to information and analysis provider IHS, Apple is looking at a new television solution that will allow it to integrate access to pay television right into the TV. It may come in the form of a complete television solution with a 50-inch liquid crystal television display, instead of an external set-top box that plugs into a set like its Apple TV.

  • B.C. bids to host Indian Film Academy Awards in Vancouver

    British Columbia is bidding to host the 14th annual International Indian Film Academy Awards in Vancouver in 2013, as part of the premier’s plan to boost the provincial economy. The three-day IIFA awards event was held in Toronto this year and B.C.’s Tourism Ministry says it generated $100 million in worldwide advertising. The Ontario government spent approximately $12 million to bring the festival to Toronto this summer.

  • DreamWorks Honours Canadian Veterans with ‘War Horse’ Screening

    Dreamworks Pictures is offering Canadian veterans nation-wide a special invitation to a pre-screening of the upcoming Stephen Spielberg film “War Horse.” In honour of Remembrance Day, the screening will be in seven major cities on November 16th.
