William F. White Int’l becomes exclusive equipment sponsor of NSI Drama Prize

The National Screen Institute – Canada (NSI) has announced William F. White International Inc. is now the exclusive lighting and grip production equipment and technical services sponsor of NSI Drama Prize.

“William F. White is a longtime supporter of NSI and has sponsored NSI Drama Prize since its inception over 20 years ago,” said John Gill, NSI CEO. “We’re grateful they’ve increased their investment in supporting our up-and-coming filmmakers.”

NSI Drama Prize is an ambitious training program providing up to four teams of emerging Canadian filmmakers with a year of support and training in writing, directing and producing as they develop and produce a short film.

“We are thrilled to empower the aspiring filmmakers selected for NSI Drama Prize by providing state-of-the-art equipment and technical expertise which they might not otherwise have the chance to access,” said Paul Bronfman, Chairman/CEO of Comweb Group and William F. White International Inc. “Given NSI’s proven track record as industry leaders in training, we see our relationship with them as an investment in the future of Canadian filmmaking.”

This comes atop of recent news of the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television Chairman Martin Katz announcing that Paul Bronfman, Chairman & CEO of Comweb Corp. and William F. White International Inc., has joined ACCT’s Board of Directors, effective immediately.

“The Academy Board just grows stronger with the addition of the driving force of Paul Bronfman who has decades of experience helping to build Canada’s screen-based industry and infrastructure,” ”Paul’s knowledge, ingenuity and entrepreneurship will complement the Academy’s active Board of Directors during this period of significant growth and change,” stated Katz.

Paul Bronfman is the Chairman & CEO of Comweb Corp. and William F. White International Inc. He is also the Chairman of Pinewood Toronto Studios Inc. Over the last twenty five years, Mr. Bronfman has built a group of entertainment firms dedicated to supplying expert production services and studio facilities to the film and television industry. Mr. Bronfman works closely with the film and television production industry to foster and develop new talent. He serves, or has served, on many industry boards including Astral Media, Banff World Media Festival, Canadian Film Centre, FilmOntario and the Ontario Media Development Board.
