    “Incendies” helmer Denis Villeneuve’s psychological thriller “Enemy,” based on Jose Saramago’s novel “The Double” and starring Jake Gyllenhaal as a man and his double, will world preem in the Toronto International Film Festival’s Special Presentations program next month. The festival added 20 Canuck feature pics to the slate, including ensemble drama “All The Wrong Reasons,” the feature-helming bow of Gia Milani, starring late Canadian thesp Cory Monteith (“Glee”) as an ambitious department store manager whose wife is coping with a family tragedy.

The two announcements also offered reminders that festivals are like film franchises: You must fulfill audience expectations yet give them something new, and you must forge a distinct identity while retaining the essential elements of thousands of similar offerings.
