Quentin Tarantino says his next film will be a western
Monday December 02nd 2013Speaking on The Tonight Show, the filmmaker was tight-lipped on his plans for his next movie, but did reveal that it would not be a sequel to his 2012 hit Django Unchained, which won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay and also saw Christoph Waltz pick up the Best Supporting Actor gong.
The director said: “I haven’t told anyone this publicly, but I will say the genre: it’s a western. I had so much fun doing Django…, and I love westerns so much that, after I taught myself how to make one, it’s like, ‘OK! Let me make another one now that I know what I’m doing.'”
Last month, Tarantino released a list of his Top 10 films of 2013 so far. His eclectic selections included action sequel Kick-Ass 2, Woody Allen’s acclaimed new film Blue Jasmine starring an Oscar-tipped Cate Blanchett, forthcoming sci-fi thriller Gravity (pictured right) and Seth Rogen’s apocalyptic comedy This Is The End. Perhaps most surprisingly, Disney’s flop blockbuster The Lone Ranger also makes Tarantino’s list.
