Avi Federgreen’s 10K film initiative continues to gain momentum with new sponsors Equifilm and Instinct

Acclaimed film Producer and Distributor Avi Federgreen’s INDIECAN10K initiative continues to gain momentum as it nears the submission deadline. Two more notable sponsors have joined the illustrious list of industry partners: Serge Morin’s Locations Equifilm Rentals Inc and Michael Perlmutter’s Music Supervision Company Instinct Entertainment.

“I am ecstatic that Location Equifilm Rentals Inc. has come on board to sponsor the Grip, Lighting and Camera requirements for the New Brunswick selected film and the Camera requirements for the Nova Scotia selected film. This is a huge addition to the Atlantic Canada projects,” says Federgreen. “Then to have my friend Michael Perlmutter come on board to offer his extensive Music Supervision assistance to all of the selected films – that will be a real treat,” continues Federgreen.

“Equifilm is thrilled to supply camera grip and lighting gear for the INDIECAN10K challenge. It is our mission to help in any way we can to solidify the film industry in New Brunswick. This initiative, combined with our mission, will grant New Brunswick’s and Nova Scotia’s emerging filmmakers an opportunity they would not have otherwise. We are stoked to be along for the journey!” says Serge Morn, Locations Equifilm Rentals Inc.

“We asked Avi if we could get involved – it’s a superb initiative and we believe it will spawn new talent across Canada. We want to work with new Producers and Directors and we love the creative process. This is a unique initiative and how could you not want to be part of it. It’s ground breaking,” says Michael A. Perlmutter, Instinct Entertainment.

Each provincial Mentor, along with Federgreen, will work closely with the selected teams or individuals through every aspect of production including script development, financing of the $10,000, pre-production, production and post-production of each feature. Projects must be fully completed by December 31, 2014.

Participating Mentors and Provinces are: Trish Dolman, Screen Siren Pictures Inc., (BC), Dylan Pearce, 12Pt Media (AB), Mark Montague, Minds Eye Entertainment (SA), Kyle Bornais and John Barnard, Farpoint Films Inc. (MB), Sean Cisterna, Mythic Productions Inc. (ON), Gia Milani and Tony Whalen, Shore Road Pictures Inc.
