Austin’s film industry takes a hit as NBC’s ‘Revolution’ gets the ax

The cancellation means a large number of actors and film crews in Austin will be looking for work beginning in the late summer and into fall.

“Revolution” had filmed its first season in North Carolina but its producers moved it to Austin because Central Texas provided greater scenic diversity for the show, much of which was shot outdoors. Its producers never explicitly credited Texas’ recent increase in its statewide incentive program with influencing the decision to film the show in Austin.
