Maple Pictures Acquires <em>Bill</em> after TIFF premiere

GreenStreet Films’ <em>Bill</em>, which screened to enthusiastic audiences at the Toronto International Film Festival, has been picked up for Canadian distribution. The deal was announced today by Maple Pictures’ Co-Presidents Brad Pelman and Laurie May.

A quirky comedy helmed by first-time directors Melisa Wallack and Bernie Goldmann, the film stars Aaron Eckhart (<em>Thank You For Smoking</em>), Jessica Alba, Elizabeth Banks and Timothy Olyphant and will receive its Canadian theatrical release in Spring 2008.

“We have been interested in BILL since script stage and think the film really delivers," May says. "We are very excited to work on its release."

“We’re thrilled that Maple will be our partner in Canada,” says John Penotti, GreeneStreet’s Founding Partner and President, “Their appreciation for the film is infectious. We hope to continue our partnership and duplicate this arrangement for many of our upcoming films.”
