    Stephen Frears’ royal-family-in-crisis drama "The Queen" has been named the year’s best picture by the Toronto Film Critics Association, beating out films like "The Departed" and "United 93."
    "The Queen," the universally acclaimed film that chronicles the tumultuous events in the British royal household in the aftermath of the 1997 death of Diana, Princess of Wales, dominated the awards.

    TV and film company Alliance Atlantis Communications Inc. (TSX:AAC.B), whose holdings include half of the CSI franchise, is for sale. The Toronto-based entertainment firm said Wednesday that the company and its controlling shareholder, Southhill Strategy Inc., recently sought expressions of interest from selected potential buyers.

    Rap star Eminem and his high school sweetheart divorced for a second time Tuesday, less than a year after they remarried.

    Eminem and Kim Mathers agreed to divide property under terms of a private settlement and to share custody of their 10-year-old daughter, Hailie Jade Scott. They told a judge they understood the divorce was final.
