Canada’s Nicolas Roy to compete for Short Film Palme d’Or at Cannes
Thursday April 21st 2011CANNES, France – A 14-minute short film from Canada has been chosen to compete at the Cannes Film Festival.
Nicolas Roy’s “Ce n’est rien” (“It’s nothing”) is in the running for the Short Film Palme d’Or alongside movies from 11 other countries.
Other films come from South Korea, Belgium, Argentina/Colombia, Australia, Norway, New Zealand, Japan and France/Ukraine.
French director Michel Gondry heads the jury that will select the winner May 22.
Meanwhile, the Canadian film, “La Nuit elles dansent,” from Isabelle Lavigne and Stephane Thibault, will get a special screening from the non-competitive directors’ fortnight.
The festival runs May 11 to 22.
