Variety honours 2007 "10 Actors to Watch"

Variety unveiled its 2007 “10 Actors To Watch” list, an annual feature spotlighting Hollywood’s emerging stars.

Variety will introduce the lineup onstage at the Hollywood Awards gala. They will also be included in a special webcast series at <a href="http://www.Variety.com">Variety.com</a>.

The actors are selected by a team of Variety critics, editors and reporters. The feature highlights emerging talents in the fields of acting, directing, writing, producing, and cinematography, among others. The “10 to Watch” program is supervised by Steven Gaydos, Variety’s executive editor of features.

“The Hollywood Awards has become a key event early in the awards season,” Gaydos said. “Introducing our picks for emerging acting talents directly to the leaders of the film industry is exciting not just for these next-generation performers, but also for the industryites who will get the chance to personally meet them on awards night.”

The 2007 honorees include:

  * Anna Kendrick (<em>Rocket Science</em>)
* Amy Ryan (<em>Gone Baby Gone</em>)
* Chris Messina (<em>Ira and Abby</em>)
* Ben Foster (<em>3:10 To Yuma</em>)
* Paul Schneider (<em>Lars and the Real Girl</em>)
* Malin Akerman (<em>The Heartbreak Kid</em>)
* Andrew Garfield (<em>Lions For Lambs</em>)
* Summer Bishil (<em>Nothing Is Private</em>)
* Sam Riley (<em>Control</em>)
* Tang Wei (<em>Lust, Caution</em>)
