Flu forces studios to shuffle slates

Studios continue to rearrange their summer release schedules in Mexico, where the flu outbreak has shut down cinemas.

Sony will now open “Angels & Demons” in Mexico on June 12. Film is opening day and date most everywhere else on May 15.

Sony also is relocating “Terminator Salvation” from June 5 to July 31 in Mexico. Studio is distributing “Terminator” internationally; Warner Bros., domestically.

Twentieth Century Fox, the studio most immediately impacted by the flu outbreak, decided last weekend to postpone the opening of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” in Mexico. Film opens Friday day and date around the globe.

Fox is now planning to launch “Wolverine” in Mexico on May 15, situation permiting.

Like Sony and Fox, Paramount is pushing back the launch of “Star Trek” in Mexico. Film will open day and date everywhere else on May 8. Par hasn’t announced a new date for Mexico.
