Director Tony Scott Dead Of Apparent Suicide
Monday August 20th 2012Tony Scott, best known as the director of Top Gun, has committed suicide. Scott leaped off the Vincent Thomas Bridge today, and police found notes in both his car and his office. The note in his office was a suicide note. He was 68 years old.
Scott also directed such notable films as Beverly Hills Cop II, Crimson Tide, True Romance, Enemy of the State, Man on Fire, and the remake of The Taking Of Pelham 1 2 3. He is also the brother of filmmaker Ridley Scott, famous for the films Alien, Blade Runner, Thelma and Louise, Gladiator, and the recent Prometheus.
Recently, Tony Scott was preparing to helm a long awaited sequel to his most famous film, with Top Gun II reportedly in the works at last. Condolences go out to Scott’s family at this tragic time.
