SIM Group Acquires Toronto-based Pixel Underground

SIM Group has announced that they have merged with Pixel Underground, one of Toronto’s leading post-production facilities, and its associated companies FINI Films and StationEX. Founded in 2009 by Marc Bachli and Marcus Valentin, Pixel Underground has quickly developed into Toronto’s most modern, file-based post production facility, specializing in color grading, visual effects and online editorial. FINI Films and StationEX provide physical and file-based media fulfillment and distribution services.

The move gives SIM Group the ability to deliver complete post production and media distribution services in the Toronto market; Pixel Underground is one of Ontario’s leading providers of post-production services for television including shows such as Motives & Murders: Cracking the Case (Discovery), Property Brothers (HGTV), Food Factory (Food Network) and American Pickers (History).

Over the past few years, SIM has steadily grown by broadening our scope of business to include experts in the field of cameras, playback, lighting and grip, workflow services and post production through SIM Digital, PS Production Services, Bling, Chainsaw, and now Pixel Underground.

We are extremely pleased to have the opportunity to collaborate with such an incredibly talented team. Pixel Underground will continue to operate under its current name within the SIM Group family of companies. This is a very exciting time for both of our companies and we look forward to working together to provide our clients with the very best tools and services available in the industry today.
