DHX Media swings high Q4 profit

HALIFAX (CP) _ DHX Media Ltd. (TSX:DHX), a producer and distributor of television programming and interactive content, has swung to a record-high fourth-quarter profit of $420,000 from a year-earlier loss of $350,000.

The full-year loss was about $900,000, versus $300,000 in the previous year, the Halifax-based company said Friday.

DHX, listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX:X) earlier this year, was formed from a combination of the Halifax Film Co. and Decode Entertainment Inc. The firm has eight children’s series on major cable and broadcast networks in Britain, the United States and Canada, including, Lunar Jim, Franny’s Feet, The Save-Ums, Poko and

Naturally Sadie.
