‘Smarter Than A Canadian 5th Grader?’
Wednesday August 08th 2007(Toronto) Global Television announced both student and adult contestant casting details for the highly-anticipated, five-episode run of "ARE YOU SMARTER THAN A CANADIAN 5TH GRADER?".
Canada’s own version of the smash primetime quizzer was announced last week to overwhelming fan reaction. Now, both a national ‘kid-casting’ tour and a call-to-action for adult contestants have been confirmed.
Beginning August 20 through August 30, "The Global Television Canadian 5th Grader Kid-Casting Tour" will visit five Canadian cities – Halifax, Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Winnipeg – as producers look for kids with the smarts and the heart to join the know-it-all panel on this fall’s hottest homegrown hit.
"With this kind of game, big fun comes in small packages," said Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President of Programming and Production for CanWest MediaWorks. "In that spirit, and together with our producing partners, we’re seeking a dynamic group of kids who can captivate the nation, and adult contestants ready to prove that Canada’s got what it takes."
Starting August 13, the search for ‘CANADIAN 5TH GRADER’ adult contestants begins. Gutsy fans willing to match wits with Canada’s brightest schoolkids for a shot at up to $1 million should visit www.globaltv.com as application forms – and up-to-date information on an in-person casting date to be held in Toronto – go LIVE on the network’s website.
