Aegis buys Canada’s Genesis Media for undisclosed sum
Sunday October 28th 2007Aegis Group has announced the acquisition of Genesis Media in Canada. Genesis currently has gross assets of US $16.2m.
Founded in 1992, Genesis Media is Canada’s leading independent media agency, with a particular presence in the faster-growing Western Canada region. It has a well-diversified service offering, including CRM, digital, direct and data analytics.
The acquisition of Genesis Media will increase Aegis Media Canada’s scale, creating a strong agency presence across the three main centres of Montreal, Toronto and Vancouver. Genesis Media will become part of the Vizeum network.
“Adding Genesis Media to our existing business will create a bigger and better proposition for domestic and international clients alike," said Robert Lerwill, CEO of Aegis. "As a result of this acquisition, Aegis Media Canada will operate from a broader base, with new strategic services. This combination will bring immediate benefits, as well as creating a stronger platform for future growth and development in Canada.”
