Top Canadian agency celebrates Academy Award noms
Tuesday January 22nd 2008The Gary Goddard Agency would like to congratulate actress Ellen Page (Juno) and director Sarah Polley (Away From Her) on the phenomenal notice they have received in recent weeks, with special celebration for today’s Oscar nominations for Actress in a Leading Role and Writing (Adapted Screenplay) respectively. This is the first Academy Award nomination for both women.
Based in Toronto, Canada, the renowned Gary Goddard Agency was established in 1978. By 1980, the prestigious boutique agency was well-known as a home for the best Canadian theatre actors. The Gary Goddard Agency is owned by three of the industry’s top agents: Celia Chassels (partner since 1982), Pam Winter (partner since 1988) and Kishwar Iqbal (partner since 1997). Since its inception, The Gary Goddard Agency’s mandate has been to work with a select number of exceptional artists to develop and nurture their careers in the spirit of partnership.
With fewer than 120 actors on their roster, including Scott Speedman (Adoration, Underworld), Luke Kirby (Tell Me You Love Me), Gavin Crawford (This Hour Has 22 Minutes), Alberta Watson (Helen, 24) and Oscar nominee Graham Greene (Dances with Wolves), The Gary Goddard Agency has developed a close working relationship with American agents and managers to co-represent its clients.
