Canwest inks deal to air Walters
Wednesday November 26th 2008Canwest Broadcasting has inked a three-year deal to air Barbara Walters specials on its flagship Global network, poaching her from rival CTV.
“Barbara Walters Presents: The 10 Most Fascinating People of 2008” will be on Global on Dec. 4, simulcast with ABC. That spec will include interviews with Will Smith, Tom Cruise, Tina Fey, Rush Limbaugh, Miley Cyrus and Michael Phelps.
Global will also snare the “Barbara Walters Oscar Special” on Feb. 22, but the Academy Awards themselves remain with CTV.
