Spin Welcomes Juan Garcia
Tuesday February 03rd 2009Fresh from the UK and amid a roar of accolades, SPIN is pleased to announce the arrival of Juan Garcia as Senior Matte Painter. In addition to his vast VFX experience, Juan brings an enviable combination of artistic flare, technical know-how and passion to the position.
His ability as a child to recall films shot by shot foreshadowed his love of storytelling. This in turn led him to comic Illustration where he quite literally made a name for himself… “Xuasus” his trademark signature, and with it, a highly recognizable presence in the illustration community. When he translated his skills to the digital world, his vision expanded yet again. “My work is completely artistic. The computer is merely a tool that allows me to re-create my vision in the correct format for the media at hand,” explains Juan.
Working on such high profile projects as Harry Potter, Rome, Troy and Kingdom of Heaven, Juan has gathered a sizable collection of awards including an Oscar for his participation in the Golden Compass.
