Film Independent pencils in scribes
Tuesday August 18th 2009Film Independent announced the participants for its 10th annual screenwriters lab Monday.
The nine participants will receive fellowship and support services during the five-week program, which began Monday and runs through Sept. 16 in Los Angeles.
The scribes and their projects are: Jeff Seymann, “El Flaco”; Rory Kelly and Tim McCarthy, “The End of Something”; Jessica Hundley “Grievous Angel”; Monica Bider, “Gringita”; Jenny Deller, “Future Weather”; Steven Schardt, “I Am Not Werner Ernhard”; Sasha Isaac-Young, “The Prettiest Girl”; and Philip Flores, “Touchback.”
“We look forward to guiding them through the process of getting their scripts to the screen,” said Film Independent’s director of talent development, Josh Welsh.
Film Independent is a nonprofit arts org that produces the Spirit Awards and the Los Angeles Film Fest and holds more than 250 screenings and events each year.
