Canuck pact for Incendo Media, Shine Int’l

TORONTO — Indie distributor Incendo Media has pacted with Shine International, the international distribution arm of Elisabeth Murdoch’s Shine Group, to distribute its product in Canada.

The exclusive multi-year deal will see Montreal-based Incendo represent Shine International’s catalogue, which includes the cooking competition series “Masterchef,” “Losing It With Jillian” and “Secrets of Aspen.”

The Canadian distribution agreement is part of Shine International’s international expansion, and has the distributor saddling up locally with Incendo, already Canada’s largest TV distributor through a joint venture with Twentieth Century Fox — Fox/Incendo Television Distribution.

The deal was brokered by Stephen Greenberg and Jean Bureau at Incendo and Shine International president Chris Grant and executive vp John Pollak.

Incendo will look to place Shine International content in both English- and French-speaking Canada.
