Warner Bros. to create 300 jobs in Montreal

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will be setting up shop in Montreal, creating 300 jobs in the video game market over the next five years.

The company said Montreal was an attractive choice because of the large talent pool in the city and the tax benefits for coming to Quebec.

“A lot of schools are now training people for games. I heard the number today; there are 800 people training for games, which is so much more than what we had five years ago, so I think that Montreal has been chosen because of the talent of the people here,” said Martin Tremblay, president of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

As the city with the sixth-largest gaming industry in the world, the move is a major boost for Montreal.

The studio will focus on multimedia and 3D projects, including video games that tie in with its motion pictures.

Warner Bros. said it is already looking for applicants.
