CBC taps Impulse to promote shows

TORONTO — Switching its U.S. sales rep, the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation has hired New York-based Impulse Media Sales to promote its shows to American media buyers.

Impulse will replace previous stateside sales rep Canadian Television Sales (CTS) after it announced it will become the exclusive U.S. rep for Canada’s Global Television network, effective July 1.

That leaves Impulse Media Sales to sell the CBC’s English- and French-language programming to American media buyers from today (June 30).

Impulse previously sold French-language programming from Radio-Canada, the CBC’s Quebec-based arm, to U.S. advertisers.
