    Mid-TIFF was perfect timing to celebrate Paul Bronfman, John Candy (posthumously), Don Carmody, Paul Haggis, Alanis Obomsawin, Donald Sutherland, and David Suzuki’s induction into The Canadian Film and Television Hall of Fame. The introduction speeches given by their peers (like those delivered by Jewison and Pinsent) were uniformly warm and laced with enough comedy to keep the roof-top audience in high spirits. The acceptance speeches from the recipients in attendance were humble and gracious, yet showed their deep passion for the Canadian Film and Television Industry.
