Sim expands Bling services to west coast

Sim Video has recently expanded its Bling Digital division to its west coast offices in Los Angeles and Vancouver.

Bling’s workflow solutions are in high demand, and the word is spreading fast. Within the past month alone, Bling has taken on a number of West Coast projects including providing data and digital dailies solutions on an NBC TV Pilot called Reconstruction shooting in New Mexico, USA Network’s Psych Season 6 shooting in Vancouver and a 4-day commercial in Los Angeles. This adds to Bling’s quickly growing long format credit list that now includes 5 TV series shooting in Toronto – Covert Affairs, Suits, Warehouse 13, Alphas and Against the Wall – which have all chosen to go with Bling’s file-based workflow solutions.

Bling has also expanded their specialized Video Assist services to now include 3D. 3D production has skyrocketed over the past two years which inspired the design of new 3D Video Assist Carts with Qtake software to help service the rapidly growing stereoscopic market. These new carts found work immediately on the set of the biggest 3D feature currently shooting in Vancouver, BC, Canada, Underworld: New Dawn 3D. Video assist expert, Manny Rego spearheaded the design and is currently working towards building a fleet of 3D VA cart solutions.

“The response to our expansion in Vancouver has been particularly strong with a growing number of clients taking advantage of SIM/Bling combined services to help streamline their productions especially when using file-based cameras such as ARRI ALEXA, RED or EPIC” said Chris Parker, Digital Cinema Specialist. “As a result we’ve recently hired Ken Anderson, who will take his position as the Manager of Bling Digital Vancouver operations starting May 2nd.” Until that time Chris Parker will remain the primary contact for productions requiring further information on any of our digital workflow services in Toronto, Vancouver and Los Angeles.
